Steven Teich

Design and Decorating Advisor

Steven advises The LaSalle Group’s Design Department, with responsibilities focused on interior design specifications, the acquisition of decorative accessories, and staging the communities as an effective marketing approach for new Autumn Leaves residences. He also researches design elements that will benefit residents with memory impairment, and assists in their site installation. Along with the LaSalle design team, Steven helps ensure that the interior of each Autumn Leaves residence provides the warmth and comfort of a home environment while meeting the unique needs of those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of memory impairment.

His background in commercial and residential interior design spans over 30 years. In 1981, Steven joined Perlmutter and Freiwald as a senior designer. Since 1991 Steven has been an owner and principal designer for The Teich Group. From development of room layouts to the selection of furniture, carpeting, area rugs, wall coverings, window treatments, lighting, art, and accessories, Steven offers a turn-key, seamless transition from concept through completion.

Steven earned a bachelor of science of environmental studies in architecture from the University of Detroit. He has been NCIDQ-qualified since 1983, and is an ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) member, serving as a board member of the Michigan chapter from 1999 to 2002. Steven is also a former board member of the Visiting Committee for European Sculpture and Decorative Arts, Detroit Institute of Arts. He is presently a member of the Historic District Commission of Saugatuck, Michigan, and is the senior design consultant for the Designer Showhouse benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Holland, Michigan.
